The public OAuth edition of Doc Egg Timer is being prepared for release and is not yet available for public Google account connections. This website does not require an account or request access to your Drive. This policy describes the planned service and will be updated before launch if its providers or behaviour change. The personal Apps Script edition has a separate policy supplied with its source files.
What Doc Egg Timer uses
When you connect Google Drive, Doc Egg Timer receives your Google account identifier and email address, permission to access files you create or explicitly select for use with the app, and an authorization token so scheduled cleanup can run while you are offline.
The service stores file identifiers, names, file types, timer settings, linked CSV and Sheet identifiers, cleanup status, and timestamps. It stores Google refresh tokens encrypted. The extension stores your account email, a service session, and a local timer cache in Chrome storage that is restricted to the extension’s own trusted pages.
File contents
Ordinary timer operations use file metadata and do not inspect document contents. Files uploaded using Google’s picker go to Google. If you choose “Open as linked Google Sheet”, the service temporarily reads that CSV and sends it to Google to create a Sheet. This conversion supports CSVs up to 10 MB. CSV bytes are processed in memory and are not stored in the timer database or application logs.
Why this information is used
Information is used to connect the correct account, show timers, rename selected files with “Temp file -”, link explicitly created CSV conversions, move expired files to Trash, and resolve failures. Doc Egg Timer does not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use Google data to train AI models.
Doc Egg Timer’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Service providers
Google processes sign-in, file selection, Drive operations, and CSV conversion. Cloudflare Pages hosts these public information and picker pages. The prepared timer service uses Supabase for hosting and its database, but that service has not yet been deployed. Final service-provider details will be confirmed here before public Google account connections are enabled. These providers may process normal technical request information such as IP addresses and timestamps to operate their services. Doc Egg Timer does not include analytics or advertising trackers.
Retention and deletion
Active timer records remain until cancelled or completed. Completed and cancelled timer details are removed from the live database after seven days. Authorization and session records expire as required to operate the service. Disconnecting through the extension stops pending timers and removes your live Doc Egg Timer account records and stored Google credentials. Hosting-provider backup and operational-log retention may differ.
Removing the Chrome extension alone does not stop server timers. Before uninstalling, use “Disconnect and stop all timers” if you want cleanup to stop. You can also revoke access in your Google Account connections. Revocation prevents future Drive operations; it does not itself submit an account-data deletion request to Doc Egg Timer.
Your controls
You choose which files receive timers. You can cancel pending timers, check errors, disconnect, or restore files from Drive Trash while Google still retains them. Doc Egg Timer moves files to Trash; it never permanently deletes Drive files.
